Awards Given to Top Educators Around the Country

For 30 years, the Milken Family Foundation has been rewarding top teachers with Milken Educator Awards, sometimes referred to as the “Oscars of Teaching.” These awards give early-to-mid career teachers $25,000 unrestricted awards. To date, the foundation has given out over 2,700 awards totaling $68 million.

The awards are given out each fall and recipients are surprised at all-school assemblies. So far, this year’s honorees include Alexis King, Aaron Ferguson, Aja Brown, Andrew Franz, Jordan McGaughey, Jennifer Fuller, Katie Negen, Anna Capobianco, Tami Lunsford, and Lauren Hopkins. The foundation plans to honor up to 45 educators this season.

At Elevate Teachers, we’re thrilled to see teachers awarded, celebrated in front of their schools, and receiving money that can help them improve their lives and those of their students. We hope to see more organizations following the Milken Family Foundation’s lead!
