Quality Early Childhood Education Depends on Supporting Teachers

A recent report from the National Academies of Science says that the best way to improve the quality of early childhood education is to support teachers. If policies don’t prepare, support, and elevate these teachers, they won’t be able to support children in the way they intend.

Other research shows that working conditions are directly related to teacher effectiveness and that leaders need to create the professional environments to allow educators to succeed. Based on these studies, early education policies should include plans for strong leadership and professional support.

At Elevate Teachers, we completely agree, and we’re glad to see others pointing out the importance of supporting educators. We hope this research leads to more respect and assistance for our teachers.
