In a recent article, by Education Reporter for USNews.com Lauren Camera, Chicago Public Schools' new CEO, Chicago Native, CPS Alum, and former CPS Educator, Janice Jackson, discusses the marked progress and the future that she sees for the district.
Among the number of impressive statistics we learn that in the last 20 years the students have learned at a faster pace than a majority of other students in the country and CPS has now reached its highest graduation rate. Jackson credits this to, among other things, parent involvement, meticulous data collection, and analysis by a third party partnership with the University of Chicago.
